Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1959 and show in the upper half the lion of the County of Solms. Historically the village belonged to the Amt Greifenstein district of the County of Solms. The lower half shows a diamond derived from the arms of the Lords of Bicken, who ruled the village as vassals of the Counts of Solms. The hazel nut in the lower left half is a canting element, the name is derived from Haselar.
