RHEINMÜNSTER
State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Rastatt
Additions : 1974 Greffern, Schwarzach (1938 Hildmannsfeld), Söllingen, Stollhofen
Official blazon
In Blau ein silbernes Schwert mit goldenem Griff, schräggekreuzt mit einem silbernen Schlüssel, darüber und darunter je eine fünfblättrige, blaubesamte goldene Rose.
Origin/meaning
Rheinmünster was newly created in 1974.
The arms show the symbols of St. Paul and St. Peter, the patron saints of the former Schwarzach abbey, founded in the 8th century and abolished in 1803. The symbols also appear in the arms of the former municipality of Schwarzach. The roses are taken from the arms of Greffern. The arms were granted on April 21, 1975.
Literature : Zier, 1964; John and Heine, 1986.
