AMT BÜREN-LAND
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Büren
Incorporated into : 1975 Büren
Official blazon
- (de) Schild von silver und rot geteilt; oben ein Rautensparren, unten eine dreitürmige Burg in verwechselten Farben.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on January 7, 1936.
The upper half shows the arms of the former Lords of Büren, to whom most of the area historically belonged. The lower half shows the Wewelsburg Castle (formerly owned by the Lords of Büren), the largest castle in Westfalen and thus a typical landmark for the area.
