Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 15, 1970.
The bars are taken from the arms of the Duchy of Luxembourg, to which the area historically belonged. The point with the sword refers to the local patron saint, St. Martin of Tours, who cut his cloak to give it to a beggar.
