Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on ?
The frogs are derived from a local legend (Sage von den stummen Fröschen, Legend of the silent frogs) around the Schwante Castle. The wavy bend with stars is based on the arms of the Von Redern family, lords of the village form the 15th until the 19th century. The bend is changed into a wavy bend for the former lake near the village. The three stars also refer to the three villages in the municipality.
