Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 21, 1956.
The arms show the cross of the Teutonic Order and the wheel of the State of Mainz. The town belonged to the Teutonic Order from 1291-1483 and from 1484 onwards to the Prince-bishops of Mainz. The court of Grossheubach used a seal from 1654-1804 that showed a single cross with some allegoric symbols, like a rose and some plants. The cross is most likely the cross of the Teutonic Order, but in the seal the cross was placed diagonally, instead of vertically. Other arms or seals are not known.
