Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on December 23, 1982. The arms show the lion of the so-called Wildgrafen counts, and the silver bar of the Rheingrafen counts. The two salmon are canting for the Counts of Salm, who were the last Lords of Wendelsheim and successors of the two other dynasties. The arms first appeared on the local seal of 1775.
