Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1929.
The arms are based on the seal of the local council of Bracht from the 14th century. The St. Mary is the patron saint of the church of Bracht, whereas the lion is the lion of Jülich. The area was part of the county (later duchy) of Jülich.
