Origin/meaning
The arms show in the upper half a black grouse, a very typical bird for the (former) moors in the municipality.
The base shows 7 buckwheat fruits, symbolising the 7 municipalities that form the present municipality of Twist. Buckwheat farming was of great importance in the 19th and early 20th century. The black colour symbolises the oil that is found in the municipality.
