(2005-2006 Dreikaiserbäder)
State : Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
District (Kreis) : Vorpommern-Greifswald (until 2011 Ostvorpommern)
Additions : 1956 Neuhof; 2005 Ahlbeck, Bansin
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 19, 2008.
The arms show a crown, a sthe three villages Ahlbeck, Bansin and Heringsdorf were very popular during the Imperial times, and the Emperor and his family visited the region often. The base indicates that the villages are sea side resorts.
The previous arms were granted in 1905 and show three canting herrings (Hering=herring).
