Origin/meaning
As the village historically belonged to the Kerpen estate, the bar of the Lords of Kerpen was placed in the base. The upper half shows a drill, symbol of the local patron saint, St. Leodegar of Poitiers, whose eyes were removed by a drill. The heart and arrows are also his symbols.
