Origin/meaning

The arms are a combination of the Goblet of the Holy Blood, a diamond for the Giebing family and a three-topped mountain for the Aschau family. The local church is consecrated to the H. Blood. The Giebing family played a major role in the local history, whereas the municipality belonged to the Lordship of aschau(Hohen)Aschau.
