German In Blau auf einer gezinnten und gefugten silbernen Mauer ein goldgekrönter und goldbewehrter silberner Adler mit ausge­ breiteten Flügeln; in der Mauer ein rotbor­diertes goldenes Tor, darin ein roter Zickzackbalken, überhöht von einem drei­lätzigen blauen Turnierkragen.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on September 1, 1949.

Dillingen was part of the area of Siersburg and the arms thus are a combination of the arms of the Amt Siersburg (an eagle over a city wall) and the arms of the Lords of Siersburg (shown in the gate). The Lords of Siersburg ruled the area from the early 14th century until 1558.
