Selected collector's items from Germany:

GÖRSROTH

State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Rheingau-Taunus Kreis (until 1977 Untertaunuskreis)
Incorporated into : 1972 Hünstetten

Wappen von Görsroth/Arms (crest) of Görsroth
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms are derived form the seal of the council of Görsroth and Kesselbach from 1796. As the two villages belonged to the larger Auroff council until the late 18th century, the seal most likely is the oldest seal of the council. A second seal, from 1816, does not show any arms or other image. The meaning of the arms is not known, neither are the historical colours. The colours shown above are commonly used and are the colours of Nassau.
