Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on May 18, 1938.
The arms are a combination of the arms of the cities Borgentreich and Borgholz, with in the base the Desenberg castle ruins. The area historically belonged to the Borgentreich and Borgholz jurisdictions as well as the Desenberg Estate.
