Wappen von Gleichamberg/Arms (crest) of Gleichamberg
Official blazon
German

In Rot über einem goldenen Dreiberg, der seinerseits mit einem roten Dreiberg belegt ist, eine geöffnete silberne Schere, darüber eine liegende goldene Vogelkopffibel.

English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on January 5, 1993.

The base shows the two hills in the municipality, the small and large Gleichberg. The scissors are taken from the arms of the Von Milz family and their relatives Von Scherenberg (Schere is scissors). In the 15th century the family played a major role in the local history. The chief shows a kind of pin, dating from pre-historic times, as several of these pins were found in the Kleine Gleichberg. The colours are those of the Von Scherenberg family, as well as of the State of Würzburg, to which the area historically belonged.
