English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on September 12, 1974.

The upper part shows the chevrons derived from the County of Ravensberg, and part of the arms of the former district of Halle. The wheel is derived from the arms of the Bishops of Osnabrück, who owned several estates in the district. The lower part shows the eagle of the County Rietberg. The former district Wiedenbrück was for a large part based in the former Rietberg county.
