Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 17, 1984.

The villages of Binnen and Bühren are situated on the steep slopes around the Weser river, which here cuts through the so-called Hoyaer Geestplatte. The deepest part is the Biener Schlucht. This is symbolised by the green point in the arms. The wheel symbolises the historical road along the river, which was of importance for the development of the villages.

Historically the large forest in the area, called 'Der Dicke' was of great importance for the three villages in the municipality. This is symbolised by the oak branch and deer antler.

The green colour symbolises the marshes and fields, the gold the sandy 'Geest' soils. The three charges also indicate the three villages in the municipality.
