GROSS LINDOW

State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Oder-Spree
Amt : Amt Brieskow-Finkenheerd
Additions: 1950 Oberlindow, Unterlindow; 1974 Weißenspring (1949 Schlaubehammer)

Wappen von Groß Lindow/Coat of arms (crest) of Groß Lindow
Official blazon
German In Silber ein blauer Schrägwellenbalken, nach der Figur begleitet von zwei abgeschnittenen, gegengewendeten grünen Lindenzweigen.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 13, 2004.

The linden branches are a canting element. The wavy bend symbolises the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Kanal which runs through the municipality.

Initially the villagers of Weißenspring wanted to be represented in the arms with a small wheel. This was not rewarded and thus not incorporated in the arms.
