HEIMBACH (EIFEL)

State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Düren (until 1971 Schleiden)
Additions: 1968 Hausen; 1969 Hergarten, Vlatten

Wappen von Heimbach (Eifel)/Arms (crest) of Heimbach (Eifel)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 19, 1930.

The town was granted city rights by Count Wilhelm of Jülich in 1343. The oldest seals showed a city gate with in front of the gate the arms of <a href=j/julich|Jülich]]. The arms are based on these seals, but the composition of the arms and the shape of the tower have changed often during the centuries, according to the fashion of the time.

In the early 20th century the arms below were shown in the Kaffee Hag albums. These arms show the same composition, but in different colours.
