Country: Germany State: Rheinland-Pfalz District (Kreis): Kusel Verbandsgemeinde: Oberes Glantal (until 2017 Glan-Münchweiler) Additions:
|
German | Durch einen silbernen Wellenpfahl von Blau und Schwarz gespalten, rechts ein silberner Pfahl, links ein rotbewehrter und -bezungter goldener Löwe. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 26, 1980.
The wavy pale shows the Glan river. The river historically separated the catholic villages of Dietschweiler and Nanzweiler from the protestant village Nanzdiezweiler. The first two were historically a possession of the Von der Leyen family (in blue a silver pale), the latter belonged to the Pfalz (golden lion in black), which is further symbolised in the shield.
