CHIEMSEE

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Rosenheim

Official blazon

Über goldenem Schildfuß, darin ein gekrümmter blauer Fisch, gespalten von Silber und Blau mit zwei Seeblättern an verschlungenen Stielen in verwechselten Farben.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on July 12, 1968.

The two water-lily leaves are taken from the arms of the large and important Convent on the Frauenwörth island in the Chiemsee Lake. Frauenchiemsee is also the capital of the municipality. The fish refers to the importance of fishing in the area. The fish is also an appropriate symbol for a municipality, which consists of three islands in a lake.
