GREUSSEN
State : Thüringen
District (Kreis) : Kyffhäuserkreis
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1993, but the composition already dates from the oldest seal of the city, known from 1368.
The arms show St. Martin, the local patron saint, with in the base the arms of the Counts of Schwarzburg, who ruled the city until 1918.
Seal from around 1900 |
The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925 |
