Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms are based on a local legend; they show the 'Lohkerl' with a tree. The Lohkerl was a person who, in the middle of the night, talked to the owls in the Lohwalde forest. He wandered at knight, as he could not find peace in his grave, for he had made a false oath during his life. Hence he is shown with his hand making an oath.
