Selected collector's items from Germany:

RETZBACH

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Main-Spessart (until 1973 Karlstadt)
Incorporated into : 1975 Zellingen

Wappen von Retzbach

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on May 22, 1586 by Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn, Archbishop of Würzburg.

The arms show St. Lawrence, the patron saint of the city, behind a shield with the combined arms of the State of Würzburg (points) and the arms of the bishop. The arms basically have never changed since, but the size and shape of the different elements has differed considerably during the centuries.
