Wappen von Blumenfeld

Official blazon

In Silber ein gradarmiges schwarzes Tatzenkreuz, belegt mit einem grünen Herzschild, darin eine goldene Lilie.

Origin/meaning

The arms were devised in 1902 and show the cross of the German Order and as an escutcheon a canting flower in a green field (Blume=flower, Feld=field).

Blumenfeld was a possession of the Teutonic Order, who also granted city rights in the 14th century. The city never used seals of itself, it used the seals of the Commander of the Order. The oldest seal thus dates from 1840 and shows the arms of Baden, to which the city belonged after 1806, with a figure of a Saint.
