MANCHING
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm (until 1972 Ingolstadt)
Additions : 1962 Unsernherrn (partly); 1971 Niederstimm; 1972 Pichl; 1978 Oberstimm, Westenhausen
Official blazon
Gespalten von Silber und Blau; vorne ein aufrecht stehender schwarzer Schlüssel, hinten ein vorgeschichtlicher goldener Verschlusshaken in Pferdekopfform.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 23, 1955.
The key is the symbol of St. Peter, the patron saint of the local church. The left half shows a highly decorated hook, which was part of a large Celtic burial treasure, found in the area in 1937. It symbolises the historical inhabitation of the area. The blue and silver field colours are the colours of Bayern.
