Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on August 10, 1936.
The arms are a combination of elements for Erwitte and (Bad) Westernkotten. The lion is derived from the arms of the historical Von Erwitte family, whereas the wolf-hook in the right half is taken from the arms of Bad Westernkotten.
