TÜSSLING
State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Altötting
Additions : 1900 Tüßling (Vormarkt); 1970 Mörmoosen; 1971 Unterburgkirchen (partly)
Official blazon
In Silber eine rote heraldische Rose an beblättertem grünen Zweig.
Origin/meaning
The oldest seal of the town dates from around 1570 and already shows the rose. The rose is taken from the arms of the Lords of Toerring, who ruled the town from 1320-1630. In the early 19th century the arms were sometimes shown as a thistle, but otherwise the rose has not changed. The colours have not changed either, except for a large part of the 19th century, when the field was shown as blue.
