Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 28, 1964.

The upper part shows the lion, which was used by several municipalities in the area, that received a large degree freedom in the 17^th century. The small bar is the important road that runs through the municipality. The millstone symbolises the historical mill, the largest in the area, which was situated in Beinhorn.
