German | In Gold die Front einer gezinnten roten Rundmauer mit offenem Tor und zwei großen, spitzbedachten Zinnentürmen auf grünem Anger, bespült von blauen Wellen; zwischen den Türmen auf der Mauer die vordere Hälfte eines herschauenden, nach rechts schreitenden schwarzen Stiers mit silbernen Hörnern und goldener Krone; über dem Haupt des Stieres ein schwebender blauer Topfhelm mit zwei an gekreuzten grünen Stangen befestigten Pfauenfederrosetten in natürlichen Farben. |

Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on April 10, 1858, and re-designed (above right) in 1993.
Waren received city rights around 1270. The oldest known seal of the city dates from 1344 and already shows the same composition as the above arms. The city wall symbolises the city character of Waren. The crest in the chief and the bull are taken from the arms of the Lords of Werle, who founded the city. The waves symbolise the Müritz lake.
