Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on February 7, 1983.
The wolf is taken from the arms of the former Wülfershausen municipality and was a canting element. The club is taken from the old arms of Wasserlosen and is the symbol of the local patron saint, St. Judas Thaddeus.
The golden star is taken from the arms of Gressthal and symbolises the patronage of St. Mary over the local church. The cross is the cross of the Knights of St. John, who had several possessions in the municipality.
The bordure is derived from the arms of the former diocese and State of Würzburg, to which the area historically belonged. The 8 fields symbolise the 8 former municipalities.
