(de) Unter einem durch einen silbernen Wellenbalken unterstützten schwarzen Schildhaupt, darin nebeneinander drei goldene Kugeln, in Grün zwischen zwei bewurzelten silbernen Tannen ein wachsender silberner Kirchturm.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on February 8, 1980.

The pine trees are a canting element, Wald means forest. In the 15^th century the village was described as the new church in the forest, hence the use of a church tower in the arms. The chief is derived from the arms of the Lords of Benzenau. At the same time the three balls symbolise the local patron saint, St. Nicholas. The wavy bar symbolises the Wertach river.
