SCHWARZHEIDE
State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Oberspreewald-Lausitz
German | *(1967) Geteilt von Blau über Grün; oben eine silberne Industrieanlage, unten eine goldene Ähre; das Ganze belegt mit einem schwarzen S.
Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on October 25, 1993. The arms show in the upper part an otter, formerly an important animal in the region, and at the same time the otter symbolises the formerly important fishing for the town. The base shows a twig of Erica (Heide in german), a canting element. The previous arms showed the importance of the chemical industry and agriculture, as well as the town's initial.
