Origin/meaning
The arms are of late medieval origin and based on the old seals of the city. The seals showed a walled city, very typical of the time, and a canting lady (Dame). There is analogy with the arms of Magdeburg, Dahme belonged until the middle of the 17th century to the State and Diocese of Magdeburg.
There has been some speculation, but it is not clear who the lady is (a saint ?).
