Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 14, 2008.

The municipality developed at the end of the 19th century around a (psychiatric) hospital founded here by the Prussian government in 1894. The name was then also changed from Modderkuhl to Uchtspringe. The arms thus show the eagl eof Prussia and an aesculapius for the hospital.
