Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1995.
The golden colour of the field symbolises the local sand, which was mined here for a long time.
The oak tree symbolises the large ancient so-called Derfflinger Eiche in the municipality, which was supposedly planted by Fieldmarshal Georg von Derfflinger in 1650. The trunk is split by a lightning stroke. The tree has 13 leaves, which is based on a local legend about the tree.
The garb and tobacco plant symbolise the local agriculture.
The base symbolises the many waters in the area.
