Origin/meaning
The arms show three helmets, which may be a canting element for the -hut part of the name. The already appear in the oldest known seal, from 1275. The present arms show the helmets according to the old seal, but during the centuries the shape of the helmets has differed widely. The colours are known since the 15th century and are probably the Bavarian colours.
Two savages were added as supporters in 1446 and are still sometimes used.
