COUNTY VELDENZ
German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The County Veldenz was a small county located in the present-day German state of Rheinland-Pfalz. It existed as an independent territory from 1112-1801, when it was incorporated into the French Empire. Capital was the city of Veldenz.
The arms show a blue lion, derived from the arms of first counts of Veldenz (1113-1444) and can be found in many town arms in the area.
