Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1925.
The arms show a canting thorn (Dorn) tree or bush. The thorn bush already appered on the oldest known seal of the village, known from 1543. All later seals and images, as well the border stones of the village, all showed a similar bush, although the images became more and more unclear in its composition (see images below). The colours were determined in 1925.
