Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on September 26, 1951.
The arms show in the upper half two hands holding a bowl with medicinal water. This symbolises the spa and health baths in the town. The lower half shows some wavy bars symbolising the Tegernsee Lake and the mountains in the base of the shield symbolise the Alps. The silver and blue colours are the colours of Bayern.
