Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1964.
Lauda received city rights in 1344 from King Ludwig of Bayern. The oldest known seal dates from the same time and shows a shield with the arms of the Counts of Rieneck and the arms of the Lords of Luden. Between 1506 and 1559 the city became part of the State of Würzburg and ever since the city used the banner of the state of Würzburg surrounded by the initial of the town.
