Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 5, 1967.

The silver pale in blue refers to the Counts von der Leye, who ruled the village until the late 18^th century. The fleur-de-lis is taken as a symbol for St. Norbert, patron saint of the Wadgassen Abbey, which had many possessions in the village. The division line refers to the -bach (stream, brook) part of the name. The division in three parts refers to the three villages in the municipality; Oberwürzbach, Reichenbrunn and Rittersmühle. The watermill wheel also refers to the latter (Mühle=(water-)mill).
