Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on ? and changed after the merger on May 16, 1972.
The first arms show the local patron saint, St. Lawrence with a fleur-de-lys, taken from the arms of the Knights von Greverode, who in medieval times originated from the town. Greverode is the old name of the town.
In the new arms, the fleur-de-lis is taken from the old arms, the colours from the arms of Oedt. The cross is the cross of the State of Köln, to which the area of the present municipality historically belonged.
