Wappen von Bernhausen/Arms (crest) of Bernhausen
Official blazon
German In Gold ein schreitender, rot bewehrter schwarzer Bär, der in der rechten Vordertatze einen schrägen blauen Doppelhaken hält.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1907, but have been used since the middle of the 19th century.

The bear (Bär) is a canting symbol. The bear holds a so-called wolf's iron in its claws. This symbol is taken from the arms of the former Lords of Bernhausen, who ruled the village until the early 14th century. The colours are the colours of Württemberg, as the village belongs since the 14th century to Württemberg.
