Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 27, 1980.
The three chevrons are the arms of the Counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg, who ruled the area for a long period of time until 1793. The beech tree is taken as the name probably means a long forested hill. Literature:Debus, 1988
