Wappen von Scheinfeld

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

Scheinfeld received city rights in 1405 and for two centuries the arms of the city showed two silver towers on three black mountains. On January 13, 1598 Emperor Rudolf II granted the city the above arms.

The eagle is the Imperial eagle, the pales are taken from the arms of the Counts of Schwarzenberg, whose capital was Scheinfeld. The left half shows one tower of the old arms of the city. All later seals and images have shown the same composition.
