Wappen von Rennertshofen

Official blazon

In Silber ein steigender roter Fuchs.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on February 3, 1836.

Rennertshofen received town rights in 1332 and the oldest known seal dates from 1344. It already shows a shield with a fox, which is derived from the old name of the town, Reinhartshofen. Reinhart is the name of a fox in many legends. All later seals and images have shown the same arms.
