Origin/meaningThe arms were officially granted on September 22, 1938. The green pale represents the forests in the area. The red pale in silver represents the colours of the County Sayn-Wittgenstein-Hohenstein, the blue pale in gold represents the colours of the County Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg.
