NORDHAUSEN (NDH)
State : Thüringen
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on January 4, 1949 and again on September 13, 1990.
The chequered field is derived from the arms of the County Hohenstein, to which the district historically belonged. The tree trunk symbolises the destroyed city of Nordhausen during the second world war. The new branch symbolises the new future under a bright sky, which is symbolised by the golden field.
